I was finally able to make a lot more progress on the water tower. The weather has been nice and time has been available. Should only be a few more days of work before we can collect water in this system.

The garden is doing great. We’ve had a few peppers now. The pumpkin flowers are about to open. The pomegranate tree and loquat tree have shown lots of new growth since planting.

Suggested by a local gardener, we planted garlic around the perimeter of our vegetable gardens. This is done to help eliminate unwanted pests in the garden without using chemicals. And we never use chemicals, this is strictly an organic garden. We use fertilizers from Lady Bug, a local company in Austin,TX that makes natural gardening products.

I’ve made a lot of progress on the water tower. The final braces are installed and the 6 main barrels are in place. The plumbing can finally start again tomorrow. Luckily we’ve had a good bit of rain over the last week. Unfortunately, it held up progress on the water tower. Too bad, we could have filled the barrels with the amount we had gotten. Oh well, that’s farmin’.

Mackenzie has made a drawing of the water tower. I told her I would post it on the website and she got really excited.
